San Leandro Optimist Rifle and Pistol Range

A wide range of classes are offered at our range!

Junior Rifle Club:

Marksmanship program for youth (10-20 years old).  Safety is emphasized as youth learn to handle and shoot .22 caliber rifles following courses established by the NRA.  Its purpose is to develop sportsmanship, discipline, and citizenship through the safe participation in the shooting sports.  Please visit the junior club website by clicking on the link below:

Security Six Classes

Initial Firearms

2 day course which covers the Consumer Affairs Guidelines for carrying and using a firearm.

 

Firearms Requalification

Requalification for holders of a BSIS firearms license

 

Guard Card

Guard card registration forms provided. 45 question exam.

 

Baton

Covers the Department of Consumer Affairs guidelines for carrying and using the straight/side handle and expandable (ASP) baton.  Lifetime certificate issued by the state.

 

Tear Gas

Tear gas permits issued after watching a 30 minute video and taking a 30 question exam.
