Firing Line Rules:
1)
Safe direction:
a) Always keep the gun (muzzle) pointed downrange or in a safe direction.
b) Firing or pointing a loaded gun in any direction (floor, ceiling, etc.) other than directly at an approved target are
grounds for immediate removal from the range, revocation of range privileges, and liability for damage.
2) Finger off the trigger:
Keep your finger off the trigger (out of the trigger guard) until your sights are on your target and you are ready to fire.
3) Action open:
a) Guns must be carried to and from the firing line with the actions open and empty, or in a suitable locked container.
b) Loaded firearms are allowed only on the range firing line.
4) Understanding: Shooters
must have an understanding of range rules or have an interpreter with them while shooting.
5) New shooters: People who
have never fired a rifle or pistol (or persons unfamiliar with firearms they intend
to discharge) must be accompanied by and coached by an experienced shooter or instructor.
6) Handling
of firearms
a) Casing and uncasing of firearms must be done at shooting stations.
b) Firearm loading and unloading must be done on the firing line only, when pointed down range…not be done behind the firing line.
c) There will be no handling of firearms behind the firing line, during a cease
fire, or when anyone is down range.
d) Loaded firearms are not to be left unattended.
e) If you have more than one shooter and only one gun, leave the gun at the station and change shooters. Do not pass the gun from one station to another.
7) Eye and ear protection
by shooters (and spectators in the vicinity of shooting activities) is required except during a cease fire.
8) Uncontrolled shooting:
a) Rapid fire is not allowed.
b) Cross-firing or diagonal shooting is not allowed
9) Shotguns are not allowed (Exception: law enforcement).
10) Holsters are not allowed
(Exceptions: law enforcement, security training, steel shoot)
11) Ammunition not allowed:
a) armor piercing or steel core
b) armor piercing on 100 yd range
c) tracer ammo
d) .50 BMG caliber
e) Magnums other than .22 on inside range
f) Wolf ammo (steel core) on inside range
12) No live ammo or miss-fired ammo is to be placed in the trash cans.
